HIROMI LINNARSSON PIANO STUDIO

Students who wish to learn the piano as a hobby, whether it be to start from zero or simply learning how to play their favorite songs, are most welcome.

I teach and have achieved results with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and goals; High school students who had never played the piano who were able to pass the Maturité Suisse examination in just 2 years, a 4 year old child who by the age of 8 was able to win first place in their division in the Concours Suisse de Musique pour la jeunesse. My youngest student is 3 and my oldest is 72!

Students who wish to take a professional route and prepare the entrance exam for a university level of study, a concert, or a masterclass are more than welcome to my piano studio.

I also conduct music theory lessons, so please feel free to contact me about any needs or goals you may have!

WHO AM I?

I began my study of the piano at age three, and graduated from The Tokyo Metropolitan High School of Music and Fine Arts in 2004. I then continued to pursue my studies at the Showa University of Music, in which I enrolled with full scholarship.

In 2008 I joined the Bachelor of Arts in Piano Interpretation program at Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne through the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship program.

Completing the regular three-year course within one year, and graduating at the top of my class I made my Swiss solo debut recital organized by La Prairie Bellmund Foundation.

I began my Master of Arts in Piano Interpretation in 2009, and consequently my Master of Arts in Piano Aaccompaniment in 2011 at Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, and completed both degrees with honors.

From 2009 to 2019 I was teaching piano at Collège Champittet, teaching students of all ages from kindergarten to high school.

I am currently fulfilling my dream having my own piano studio which is located in the heart of the old town of Lutry, Switzerland.

Besides teaching I also continue my activities as a pianist performing solo, in ensemble, or as an accompanist.

I was tutored in solo piano by Yuka Kamimura, On Mitani, Johko Takemura, Sanae Takagi, and Jean-Francois Antonioli.

I studied chamber music and accompaniment under Brigitte Mayer, Gunars Larsens, Marc Pantillon, Todd Camburn, and Beatrice Richoz.

I highly recommend the teaching of Hiromi Linnarsson, who is an exceptional teacher. I had the pleasure of guiding her through her studies - where she obtained successively and brilliantly Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Interpretation - highly appreciating her musicality, intelligence and very high artistic sense, qualities favoured by her excellent previous Japanese education. A person of great delicacy, responsibility and commitment, Hiromi Linnarsson knows her profession as a pianist perfectly well and the students entrusted to her will be in excellent hands to develop harmoniously and steadily.

-Jean-François Antonioli, concert pianist, in charge of the piano department at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU Vaud Valais Fribourg)
